Two weekends ago we headed to the mountains just north of Seattle to celebrate Oktoberfest in the little Bavarian town of Leavenworth. Leavenworth is such a funny little place. It was failing back in the 60's or so and they decided to turn it into a Bavarian Village. Now people come there from all over and Oktoberfest is one of their largest events. We usually go up to enjoy the outdoors but drinking beer and eating brats in the sun was pretty fun too!
First things first....Texas BBQ served in a school bus.
Random I know but oh sooooo good! Smoked with Mesquite wood straight from TX!
We could not have asked for better weather for our day of Oktoberfest!
The parade before the ceremonial tapping of the keg!
Bush enjoying his first beer of the day.
MBT and Guy friend.
The girls! Anna so graciously invited us to stay at her family's cabin near the town. Hotels get pricey this time of year! More cash to spend on brats and brews!
We made a bet with Andy that by the end of the night he had to wear a dirndl! Success right before we were about to leave! He convinced a girl to wear his long jacket while he borrowed her dress. We were amazed to see him walk into the hall while we were watching some German dancing, reminiscent of Clark Griswold in European vacation, dressed in a dress! We had such a great weekend!

Looks like so much fun. The next time I come to visit, I'd love to check out that town.
