Wild!

We recently went to San Diego to meet Bush's parents for a long weekend. It was fabulous! We flew in late Tuesday night and left on Sunday. It was so good to spend a little time with them. We stayed in beautiful La Jolla! It was gorgeous and very relaxing. We spent our first day at the Wild Animal Kingdom. It is also part of the San Diego Zoo but has a more spacious feel. We had beautiful weather and it was great to spend our first part of our day there. We spent the rest of the day checking out La Jolla. Here are a few pics from our trip to the Wild Animal Park.

The beautiful southern California terrain. It is so different to that of the Pacific Northwest!




















The elephants were so amazing. Probably my favorite part of the park. We watched them for a while during their morning breakfast.

We took an open air bus tour around the African plains. It was very cool. The giraffes were my favorite on the tour. I have always loved them and it was fun to see them again in person. Especially the babies.

The meerkats were another favorite! When we lived in New Zealand, Meerkat Manor was one of our favorite shows. They are super cute!


























We stopped by to see the gorillas and they were mainly hiding in the shade but on our way out they started to move and it was amazing to see. They were enormous!












We made our way back to La Jolla to check out the town. It is beautiful there. We watched the seals and the sea lions and took a walk along the cliffs. It was a great way to spend our first day in CA!
